Taita Taveta County Deputy Governor Christine Kilalo now wants the government to carry out a thorough inspection of all public service vehicles.
Speaking to Baraka FM DG Kilalo said the move will ensure that PSV drivers comply with all traffic regulations.
“The government should conduct a stiff campaign in inspecting all public service vehicles. This is good as it will aid in lowering road accidents in this country,” she pointed out.
She also noted that the move will assist drivers to adhere to all laid down traffic guidelines.
The Taita Taveta DG’ asked PSV drivers to ensure they get professional training so as to avoid road accidents.
Kilalo further admitted that the country has in the recent past experienced a wave of traffic-related accidents, saying that the Josa area in Taita Taveta County is one of the major black spots.
“We have experienced an increase in the number of accidents in the recent past. Last year a similar accident happened at the same place, Josa,” the DG noted.
