Revised 2023 Academic Calendar for primary and secondary school

The Ministry of Education has released a revised school calendar for the 2023 academic year.

The revised calendar shows that changes have been made in the third term of the academic year.

The third which was supposed to run for 10 weeks will be nine weeks long with closing dates changed from the 11th of November to the 28th of October 2023.

Class 8 candidates and grade 6 learners will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) respectively from 30th October to 2nd November 2023.

Form four candidates will sit for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from 3rd to 24th November 2023.

KCSE marking will take place from 27th November to 15th December 2023.

Meanwhile, learners will be in school until 21st of this month before closing for a two weeks holiday.

Term two will commence on 8th May and run up to 11th August with a three-days half term break scheduled for the 29th of June to the 2nd of July.

The nine-weeks long third term will kick off on the 28th of August.
