Harambee Starlet forward Mbeyu Esse Akida has clinched the women’s Greece league top Scorer award of the season.

The FC PAOK Thessaloniki star used her Facebook page to express her feelings about getting the award and being recognized for her brilliant performance.

“First allow me to thank the people of Greece and the entire PSAPP who made this happen and I want to thank those who made this possible for recognizing our efforts in a game that is predominantly dominated by men,” she said.

This is not her first time emerging as a top Scorer, the former Thika Queens attacker was awarded top scorer for the 2016 COTIF Women’s Football Tournament in Valencia, Spain.

The 30-year-old joined the Greek side in 2021 after spending one year in Turkey while she was representing Beşiktaş J.K.

Akida has found the net 17 times in her 18 appearances with her famous number 14 shirt with PAOK.

The Kilifi-born forward dedicated the award to her family after receiving it.

“I want to thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and pray that we win more things together in the coming years,” she stated.
