This year’s Jumuiya Agribusiness and Blue Economy Investment Conference (JABEIC) will be held in Hola, Tana River County.
The three days event will be held in December from the 7th to the 9th.
“JABEIC 2022 builds on the successes of three prior conferences to advance the regional county governments’ commitments to economic development cooperation,” read a statement from Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP).
The inaugural JABEIC was hosted by Mombasa County in 2018, followed by JABEIC 2019 which Kilifi County hosted.
Kwale County hosted the JABEIC 2021 which had been postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The annual rotational co-hosting among the six-member counties makes it an inclusive event,” said JKP.
This year’s theme is ‘Innovative Investments in Blue Economy Urbanization and Regenerative Transformation.’
“We expect to host over 1,000 individuals including Representatives of the national government, Governors, CECs Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Development Partners (FAO and EU- Go Blue Partners), Entrepreneurs, Private Sector Leaders, Investors, Innovators (Tech companies), SMEs, exporters/importers, CSOs, Farmer groups, Youths in agribusiness, Women-led enterprises and Universities (Technical University of Mombasa, Pwani University, Taita Taveta University), and International delegates,” said JKP.
