Shimanzi FC Head Coach Nelson Wanzala is confident that they will be crowned champions come the end of Football Kenya Federation Coast Regional League pool B zone A season.

Shimanzi are currently top of the fourteen team league table with 39 points after 18 matches having won 12 of them, drawn in three and suffered three defeats on their way.

Wanzala has expressed satisfaction with his charges’ progress so far this season unlike last campaign where they finished in the middle of the table.

“I’m happy with the clubs’ performance. Our fans need not to worry. We have all what it takes to lift the league title this season. Our squad is a blend of youth and experienced players,’’ Wanzala said.

Having entered in his fifth season with the Ganjoni based side since his appointment in 2017, Wanzala has stated that the league has been competitive but his boys are well prepared for the task.

Shimanzi FC secured a signature of attacking midfielder James Mutua, Elmond Kasaya and Erisat Orute who are center forwards this season and they have boosted their ambitions to lift the title.

Elsewhere, Taita based side Kamtonga FC also are hoping to smash the FKF Coast Regional League title this season despite having 5 points less than the league leaders.

Kamtoga have collected 34 points this season and are placed 3rd but believe they can restore the dented pride of their county having created unwanted history in recent seasons.

The club Chairman Joseph Chengo claimed that they will surprise many people as they will battle for the promotion until the end of the season. Kamtonga will face KCN Poly at MTTI Bomani before going head to head with TUM Dynamos who are placed second in the league on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
