Chelsea have sacked Thomas Tuchel

Tuchel was shown the door after a 1-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions league first group match on Tuesday.

The German tactician said he was angry at himself for the ‘huge underperformance’ during the 1-0 defeat to the Croatian giants.

Tuchel went on to claim that his side is currently lacking hunger and determination.

Chelsea’s new owners issued a statement to confirm the departure of the former PSG manager, one day after the embarrassing night in Croatia.

Tuchel led Chelsea to the Champions League title in 2021 as well as Club World Cup crown in 2022.

He also managed to make two finals in the English domestic cups last season only to suffer in a penalty shootout against Liverpool.

Chelsea spent the most in the previous transfer market having signed Raheem Sterling from Manchester city, Marc Cucurela from Brighton, Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli in their early days of the transfer window.

The blues made three other transfers in the deadline day after securing their long-term Target Wesley Fofana from Leicester City, Pierre Emirick Aubameyang from Barcelona and Dennis Zakaria who joined on loan from Juventus.

Chelsea now are expected to approach Brighton head coach Graham Potter. They are also keen to speak with Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane, who are both out of work.
