Serani wins high school championship in the coastal region

Serani High School from Mombasa County have successfully defended their high school football championship in the Coast region for the second time in a row after beating Kinondo from Kwale County in the final.

The competition, which was hosted at Shimo La Tewa High School in Mombasa county, attracted various teams from all six coastal counties for the first time since the outbreak of the corona virus in 2020.

Serani who won the National Championship at the Coca Cola tournament emerged as Mombasa County champions two weeks ago after defeating Tononoka 2-0.

The school, which is loaded with talents from the Bandari club academy, will represent the coastal region at the National tournament in Nakuru this week.

Elsewhere St John’s Kaloleni from Kilifi County will represent the region in the girls’ soccer after emerging as champions.

In volleyball, Kilifi County dominated both boys and girls as Vitengeni Baptist and St. John’s Girls Kaloleni emerged champions as well.

Vyambani who finished second in volleyball girls booked their ticket to Nakuru since St. Johns are the defending Champions at the national level.

Dungicha Secondary from Kilifi also won both boys and girls Handball championship, the same as what they did at the county level.

This is how the coast region will be represented in other disciplines at the national levels in Nakuru.

Hockey boys St. George’s- Kilifi, girls Matuga girls – Kwale County.

Rugby Shimba hills and Mazeras – Kwale County.

Basketball boys Dr. Aggrey – Taita taveta, Basketball girls Kaya tiwi – kwale.

Basketball 3 aside boys Mombasa Baptist, Basketball 3 aside girls Mitangani – Kilifi Netball Kaya tiwi – Kwale.
