President Kenyatta gazettes swearing in of MPs and Senators in parliament

President Uhuru Kenyatta has gazetted the first sitting of 13th and Parliament which entails the National Assembly and the Senate.

The sitting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 at 9:00 am.

The event is a leeway to swear in all the 290 members of parliament and 47 senators.

According to article 126 (2) of the Constitution, the President is obliged to declare through a gazette notice the date for the first sitting of the new House within 30 days after the completion of elections.

The gazettement is cardinal to the business of the House, following the fact that it is the interface of the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker
