Learners will not be reporting back to school on Monday 15th August as earlier announced by the Ministry of Education.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has pushed forward schools re-opening date to Thursday 18th August, 2022.
In a press statement dated 13th August, 2022, the Education CS said the decision was made due to the ongoing tallying process.
“Following the conduct of our National Elections on Tuesday 9th August, 2022, the process of tallying of ballot is still ongoing. Therefore, following further consultations, I hereby convey the Government’s decision on the suspension of the re-opening of ALL Basic Education institutions with effect from Monday 15th August, 2022 until Thursday 18th August, 2022,” read the statement.
