DCI gives Didmus Barasa six hours to surrender

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has given Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa six hours to surrender to the nearest police station.

Barasa, who was re-elected as Kimilili MP, is wanted for murder.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is warming Hon Didmus Barasa, who has since gone into hiding after the brutal murder of one Brian Olunga, to surrender to the nearest police station within the next 6-hours,” said the DCI.

A specialized team of DCI sleuths based from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and the Homicide department has been dispatched to assist in his manhunt.

“Hon Barasa, is wanted for the cold blooded murder of Brian, who he shot on the forehead killing him on the spot, on Tuesday August 8, at Chebukwabi in Kimilili, Bungoma County,” said the DCI.

The DCI has warned the public against aiding Barasa hide saying serious action will be taken against any person/s found to be harboring the murder suspect.

Didmus has, however, been very active on his social media platforms with his last post being on Thursday 11th of August, 2022.

Earlier on Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officer declined to hand over Barasa’s certificate to his agent saying that the MP elect had to report to the tallying center physically to receive the certificate.
