Mombasa,KENYA: Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is set to mediate between Kisuani Mp Ali Mbogo and former Nairoi Governor over Mombasa gubernatorial ticket.

Speaking in Nairobi,Kalonzo said he anticipates to bring an understanding between Mbogo and Sonko inorder to have a formidable leader for the County job.

“As a a party leader it is a big problem ,people are struggling to get that ticket ,of course Ali Mbogo ,announced he want to be governor Mombasa ,on a wiper ticket ,governor Sonko has joined in the contest ,We will sit them together like we did with Mavoko mp Patrick Makau and Wavinya Ndeti.”Kalonzo said

“It is not an easy matter, I can tell you, it can never be easy. “He added

Kalonzo said that negotiated democracy in his his party is a viable path to use in order to avert possibilities of giving their competitors a leeway of winning in some elective posts.

“People are going to have nominations throughout, at every village or sublocation, you can create a situation where as a political party you might give advantage to your competitor and we are aware of this.”Kalonzo said

He defended negotiated democracy narrative pointing out that it has worked out in his party, after finding amicable truce between Machakos gubernatorial aspirants, Wavinya Ndeti and Patrick Makau, whereby Makau backed Ndeti’s bid.

Sonko recently declared interest in vying for Mombasa gubernatorial seat, a decision which has complicated the Azimio la umoja matrix in the county following the fact that ODM has already fronted its preferred candidate.

This development is a replica of what transpired in ODM, whereby the party leader Raila Odinga oversaw talks which declared Abdul Swamad as Mombasa’s preferred gubernatorial aspirant backed by his competitor Suleiman Shahbal.

The Kisauni Mp has vowed to ditch wiper party if at all he will be subjected to a nomination exercise against Sonko. Mbogo had been given a direct ticket by Kalonzo’s party.
