Kenya electoral body- IEBC -has a task of ensuring peace prevails in the country by conducting a credible election in August.
Kenya National Commission on human rights (KNCHR) chairperson Roselyn Odede said Kenyans are upbeat about the elections and that they do not wish for irregularities to be witnessed.
She however noted that IEBC has increased much focus to elections starting with party primaries to inspire confidence on Kenyans.
Speaking on Wednesday in Mombasa county, Odede also urged Kenyans to preach peace as the country gears towards the August polls.
“This week we’re visiting the coast to link our stakeholders to know what are the issues on the ground and this helps us to plan our work on the way and also establish network.” She said.
She also asked the provincial administration in the country to ensure peace prevails in their regions during elections.
“We also urge the mwanachi to respect each other and their opinion as we head to elections”, added Odede.
