Bunge la Wananchi forum in Mombasa County wants Mvita Mp Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir to ascertain whether his degree is genuine.

In a statement sent to newsroom, the forum says Mombasa County is tired of court cases involving fake degrees of area leaders.

” People are tired of court cases about fake degrees and, at this early warning we will expose all rogue dealings be it in the NEB, court and University colleges”, reads the press release.

It further reads; ” In light of the foregoing heated debate on fake degree across Mombasa County, we urge your honourable office to confirm to ODM party members in Mombassa County if indeed Hon. Abdulswamad owns a genuine degree and currently pursuing a masters degree at Grater University”,.

In the statement signed by the forum’s Executive Coordinator Makani Pius, they allege that Abdulswamad who intends to vie for Governorship in August elections, sat for his KCSE in 1992 and never proceeded to university.

“There is no clear information about his education record”, it adds.

The bunge la wananchi forum also also wants the ODM party to come out and clear the air on what the requirements the party wants.

” As Kenyans, we will not relent on pursuing justice and legal action to be taken against rogue universities that are involved in the issuance of fake degrees”, it further reads.

Businessman Suleiman Shahbal, Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi, Former senator Omar Sarai, Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir, Kisauni Mp Ali Mbogo and Shaffie Makazi will battle it out for the County leadership in August polls.
