Diani criminal among 8 wanted terror suspects

A resident of Ukunda in the Coast is among eight suspected terror suspects from the Al-Shabaab terrorist group wanted by the police.

Kassim Musa Mwarusi, who goes by the nickname Abu Mbiki, is alleged to be a member of Al-Shabaab and is also used to provide ideological training to students.

Kassin is also accused of leading criminal gangs in Diani.

Others in the list of wanted Al-Shabaab criminals are Mohamed Ali Hussein, Mohamud Aden, Abdikadir Mohamed, Ahmed Ali, Peter Njoroge nicknamed Mustafa and Eric Njoroge nicknamed Moha.

According to the DCI, Kassim is suspected to frequently visit Likoni, Ukunda and Diani towns and other areas in the Coast.

The list was published by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Wednesday afternoon.

“The DCI is appealing to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of the following 8 terror suspects, linked to the Al-Shabaab terror network,” read a statement from the DCI.

Members of the public are urged to provide information that will lead to the arrest of the eight suspects.

“The suspects who are highly trained, armed and dangerous have been dispatched to the country to commit acts of terror,” said the DCI.
