Heavy rains expected in Coast counties

Rainfall is expected to continue in several parts of the country including the Coast region.

According to a seven days forecast (30th November to 6th December) by the Kenya Meteorological Department, Taita Taveta County is likely to experience morning rains in a few places with several other places experiencing afternoon and night showers.

Morning, afternoon and night showers are likely to occur over a few places in Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu and Tana River Counties.

The Coast counties are predicted to receive more than 70mm of seven-day total rainfall.

“Areas predicted to receive more than 70mm of Seven-day total Rainfall might experience some isolated storms especially over Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta, Machakos, Lamu, Kilifi, Garissa bordering with Lamu, lower Tana River, Mombasa, Kwale bordering Kilifi/Mombasa, Kajiado bordering Taita Taveta and some central counties including Nairobi,” said the Met department.
