A 61-year-old woman has been killed in Zifanjoni village in Mwawesa ward, Rabai Constituency for allegedly being a witch.
According to authorities, the victim has been identified as Mama Magombe Bozo.
She was killed by unknown people who raided her house yesternight.
According to Rabai sub-county Acting DCC Zilot Isaiah, the deceased was cut with machetes and died on the spot.
Isaiah warned the public against taking the law into their hands.
He also decried the high murder rate in the area over witchcraft allegations.
“ I have witnessed 20 killings over such allegations since I was posted here four months ago”, he said.
Police removed the body of the deceased to Coast general hospital mortuary
