If you are going to apply for a teaching position advertised by the Teachers Service Commission, ensure all your academic papers are in order.

TSC has published a list of 62 candidates who are currently ineligible for employment.

according to the commission, the reasons for the disqualification of the 62 candidates vary from forged and fake certificates to dismissal from previous employment due to immoral behavior, wrong teaching subjects choice, zero content or experience in the subjects, and low KCSE mean grade.

Some had two TSC numbers while others just did not meet the threshold and requirements for the advertised subject.

Out of the 62, at least 13 had issues to do with forged or fake certificates, 17 did not meet the threshold or requirements for advertised, six were not on the graduation list and TSC was awaiting confirmation from their universities, five had been dismissed from their previous employment due to immoral behavior, while three had different names in their documents.

“Considering Eng/Lit is integrated in the secondary school curriculum, the applicant is ineligible because he lacks Literature component,” read one of the reasons given for disqualification of a candidate applying to be an Eng/CRE teacher.

“Submitted a counterfeit Degree Certificate for 10th Dec 2010. The University has confirmed her actual date of graduation as 18th Dec 2020,” read another reason given to disqualify another candidate.

Some had been removed from the Register of Teachers, others had certificates not recognized while others could not prove qualification with the university.

An applicant who was eyeing a computer teacher’s position was disqualified because he did not meet the threshold for recruitment, obtained a grade D (plain) in Maths and did not study Computer Studies at KCSE.
