KDF recruitment exercise in Mombasa continues in Jomvu at Mikindani

Mombasa youth interested in joining the Kenya Defence Forces will have to go for the recruitment exercise which is ongoing nationwide.

The exercise which started on Monday 8th February and will end on 19th February 2021, aims to recruit over 4,400 Kenyans into the KDF across all the 327 sub-counties.

In Mombasa County, the exercise kicked-off in Changamwe on Monday followed by Kisauni on Tuesday.

In Likoni, the exercise was held on the 10th. Jomvu exercise will be carried out on the 11th at Mikindani, Nyali 12th in Kongowea and Mombasa Island recruitment will be held on the 15th of February 2021.

In Lamu, the exercise kicked-off at Amu Island, Lamu West on Monday followed by Faza in Lamu East on Tuesday.

The exercise kicked-off in Kilifi County on Wednesday at Marafa in Magarini sub-county, Malindi exercise will be carried out on the 11th, Mwembekati in Chonyi on the 12th, Ganze 15th, Kilifi in Kilifi North on the 16th, Kaloleni 17th, Rabai 18th and Kikambala in Kilifi South on the 19th of February.

In Kwale, the recruitment will be held in Lunga Lunga on the 16th, Msambweni on the 17th, Kinango 18th and Kwale in Matuga on 19th February.

Taita Taveta recruitment exercise will be held in Voi on the 16th, Mwatate 17th, Wundanyi in Taita on the 18th and Taveta on 19th of February 2021.

“The drive shall seek eligible Kenyans in six categories namely General Service Officer (GSO) cadets, GSO Cadets Undergraduate, Specialist Officer cadets, General Duty (GD) Recruits Tradesmen/Women and KDF Constables,” said KDF.

Academic Qualifications

Those applying for the GSO Cadets must hold a minimum mean grade of B (Plain) in KCSE with C+ (Plus) in English, Mathematics and one Science subject.

For those applying for GSO Cadets (Undergraduate Degree Holders) apart from having the same qualifications as the GSO Cadet, one must also be a holder of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university or institution.

Specialist Officer must have the minimum requirement to qualify as a GSO cadet except for chaplains who must hold a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE. They should also be holders of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
