946 schoolgirls have been impregnated in Kilifi County according to statistics released by the County.
Kilifi County Commissioner Kutswa Olaka said that out of the number, 640 girls are in primary schools while 306 others are in secondary school level.
Olaka said that Kilifi North and Kaloleni sub-counties have recorded higher cases compared to other parts of Kilifi.
The number includes both public schools and private schools in the County.
However, 235 pregnant girls in primary school 153 in secondary school have already reported back to school.
The data comes just days after Kaloleni Member of Parliament Paul Katana
said that 200 schoolgirls in the sub-county had been impregnated during the school break.
