President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned headteachers against sending learners home due to school fees.
He said the heads have no authority to send students home for fees while acknowledging that parents are going through hardships owing to economic turmoil brought about by the covid-19 pandemic.
” Let me be very clear, no child should be sent away from school because of school fees”, he said.
Speaking on Gikuyu Fm stations, Uhuru also urged the society and religious leaders to help the government fight drug abuse among students.
“The government alone cannot enforce good conduct. We need to work together to eliminates these vices”, he added.
