A Kirinyaga pastor has been jailed for 140 years for defiling and impregnating his two daughters.
John Gichira had pleaded guilty on 5th January 2021 to defiling and impregnating his two daughters aged 14 and 16 years.
The accused received 70 years of jail term for each count of defilement and will serve them consecutively.
“The accused through his insensitive behavior has permanently wounded the lives of young girls and their siblings, he has no remorse for his behavior and two girls will forever be reminded and carry the pain for the rest of their lives,” said Senior Principal Magistrate Anthony Mwicigi.
Gichira, a church elder from Raimugaa village in Ndia constituency, is said to have defiled and impregnated the 16-year-old girl, the case was not reported after he threatened his wife.
The action was only taken when the 14-year-old told her aunt she was pregnant.
The aunt then took her to the authorities where she revealed what her father had done.
The 51-year-old was arrested in Mbeere South from his hideout after the police launched a manhunt in December last year.
