SGR launches night train services

Kenya Railways has Launched night services on SGR.

The service will commence effective tonight. The Madaraka Express night trains are set to operate from both ends in Nairobi and Mombasa at 9 pm and at 3 am.

Kenya Railways Managing Director Philip Mainga says there is a high demand for SGR transport.

“We are running this service because of the boom in passengers,”Mainga said

The railways’ corporation said travelers will be permitted to travel as long as they have tickets which is an outright exemption.

“For as long as one has a ticket, there shouldn’t be a challenge in connecting,” said Hinga

There will be stop overs  in Mtito Andei, Voi, Emali, Kibwezi and Mariakani.
