No candidate for Jubilee in the Msambweni by-election

Jubilee party will not be fielding any candidate in the Msambweni by-election to be held on 15th December, 2020.

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju the party agreed not to contest for the seat so as a sign of continuation of cooperation with ODM.

The seat was left vacant after the death of Msambweni Member of Parliament Suleiman Dori in March.

Dori, who was a member of ODM, died after of cancer.

This is not first time for the Jubilee to announce not to contest for an MP seat declared vacant.

Jubilee announced not to contest for Kibra constituency seat following the death of Ken Okoth but later changed the decision and field MacDonald Mariga to contest against Ken Okoth’s brother.

Tuju has said that several potential candidates had shown interest to vie for the seat under a Jubilee ticket but urged them to go for other parties.

 Tuju announced that the nation is facing constitutional challenge following Chief Justice Advisory to president Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve the parliament.
