Police in Malindi are searching for a Woman who allegedly dumped her one-day-old baby in a snake-infested pit latrine moments after giving birth.
According to a police officer at the Malindi police station gender desk Marian Hussein, the baby was rescued by police and members of the public.”
“ We were notified about the incident by members of the public and rushed to that pit latrine. luckily, we rescued the baby alive”, she said.
Locals who rebuked the unknown woman for her actions said the pit latrine is infested with snakes and that it was a miracle the baby is still alive.
The one-day-old baby was rushed to Malindi county hospital where it’s in a stable condition.
