COVID-19 recoveries surpass 15,000 as 490 are discharged

The total number of COVID-19 recoveries hit 15,100 on Thursday as 590 more people were discharged.

Out of the new recoveries, 308 were from the Home- Based- Care while 182 others were discharged from various hospitals.

Speaking during the daily COVID-19 briefing, Health Director General Dr.Patrick Amoth said the recovery figures were from a total of 23 out of the 47 counties as they could not delay the press briefing to compile the figures from all the counties.

“We will continue to see the number of our recoveries rising,” said the DG.

Meanwhile, 650 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours raising total cases in the country to 28,754.

Announcing COVID-19 the results, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said the positive cases were from a sample of 6,768 tested.

Ministry of health has also announced that four more people succumbed to the virus raising COVID-19 death toll to 460 people.

Nairobi County continues to lead with 356 new cases, Kiambu 53 , Nakuru 48 cases while Mombasa recorded 7 new cases.
