17 year olds among four robbery with violence suspects arrested in Likoni, Mombasa

Police in Likoni, Mombasa County, have arrested four robbery with violence suspects, among them two 17 year-old teens, who have been terrorizing residents of Mtaa wa Makka area in Likoni.

The arrests came just two days after a report was made by ‘Mtaa wa Makka’ area village elder Amina Said following an attack on one Sheila Anyango.

According to the police report, Sheila Anyango was attacked by three armed thugs on Friday 31st July at around 8:30 pm while coming from the shop.

The thugs cut her on the head and left hand thumb before stealing her mobile phone.

“Police responded immediately and took her to Likoni sub-county hospital and referred to Coast general hospital,” read the police report seen by Baraka FM.

The thugs also attacked 50-year-old Shadrack Mwero outside his house, cutting him on his hands and head before taking his phone.

“He was rushed to Coast general hospital. Both victims are in stable condition,” said the report.

The police managed to arrest four suspects in connection with the robbery on Sunday morning; Steve Jimmy Otieno and Philip Omondi Opiyo both 17 years old were arrested within ‘Mtaa wa Makka’ area.

Also nabbed were 25 year-old Mabuki Hamadi Hassan and 30 year-old Rama Salim Masito.

Investigations still ongoing.
