Kenya has marked the highest COVID-19 deaths in a single day since the virus was first reported in the country after 23 people succumbed to the disease, youngest being 16 years old.
according to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, this now pushes the country’s total COVID-19 fatalities to 364.
On a positive note, 254 people recovered from the disease, bringing total recoveries to 8,419. Out of the new recoveries, 88 were patients in the home-based care system while 166 were discharged from various hospitals.
Meanwhile, 727 new cases were recorded, from a total of 6,371 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Total country infections now at 21,636.
