Kenya virus cases hit 19,125 after 544 new infections

Kenya has recorded 544 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 19, 125.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the positive cases were drawn from the 5, 259 people whose samples were tested within 24 hours.

This brings the country’s cumulative total tests to 289, 759. 

Kagwe said 340 victims were male and 204 were female.

On a positive note, 113 patients have recovered from the disease while 12 more patients succumbed to the virus, raising fatalities in the country to 311.

He was speaking at the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council headquarters in Nairobi.
