Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has faulted Kenyan men for ignoring directives to wear masks in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

In daily briefings, CS for Health Mutahi  Kagwe, said more men are victims of corona virus due to their behavior.

This was after 297 more men contacted the virus in the last 24 hours.

According to kagwe, most men are only putting on masks to avoid trouble with police instead of understanding that it is for their own protection from the virus.

” The most serious culprits of not using masks are men. I would like to appeal that we adhere strictly to the measures that have been given”, he said.

Kenya recorded 421 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, raising the country’s total confirmed cases to 11,673.

This is after 3,895 samples were tested, he said.

However, the number of patients who have recovered from corona virus rose to 3,638 Thursday after 570 more patients were cleared.

512 were receiving home-based care while 58 were discharged from various facilities that they were admitted

Eight more people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours bringing a fatality number to 217.

The cumulative samples tested so far are 230,096.
