Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho has revealed that the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga is progressing well after undergoing minor surgery in Dubai.
Joho said that he spoke to Odinga on Friday morning and he was recovering well.
“I feel happy and encouraged that Raila is progressing well after going through a procedure and he will be back in the country to within the shortest time possible soon to continue with the agenda of uniting Kenyans,” said Joho.
Odinga left the country on Sunday for the United Arab Emirates for minor back surgery.
The East African Legislative Assembly member, who is the Odinga family spokesperson Oburu Odinga, revealed that Mr. Odinga, 75, is currently admitted to a German hospital in Dubai.
In June 2010, Mr. Odinga underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain after initial reports indicated that he was admitted to hospital for exhaustion related complications.
