133 more test positive for COVID-19 as global tally surpasses 8 million

133 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the country bringing the total number of those who have been confirmed positive in Kenya to 3,727.

This is according to the latest update by the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe issued from Olkalou in Nyandarua County on Monday.

“Out of the 3365 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 133 more have tested positive,” Kagwe said.

Thirty-three more people were discharged on Monday bringing the total number of recoveries to 1286.

The CS said that Nyandarua County is one of the COVID-19 free counties after 600 samples tested in the county turned negative.

The total number of those who have succumbed to the deadly virus in the country now stands at 104 after one more person succumbed to the virus.

Globally, the infection toll surpassed 8 million on Monday currently standing at 8,024,660 as of Monday afternoon.

246,329 of the cases have been recorded in Africa with South Africa leading in the number of infections at 70,038
