Monday’s COVID-19 recoveries surpass new infections

The number of people who recovered from COVID-19 on Monday has surpassed the number of those who were confirmed positive on Monday.

This is according to the daily statistics given by the Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman who said that 97 people had recovered from COVID -19 on Monday while 95 new cases were confirmed on Monday.

“97 people have been discharged after testing after recovering from the virus. This brings the total number of recoveries to 849” Aman said.

Mombasa continued to lead in the number of infections with 56 of the 95 cases coming from the county while Kilifi County recorded three new COVID-19 cases.

22 of the cases in Mombasa are in Mvita while Changamwe recorded 13 cases Kisauni, Nyali, Jomvu and Likoni recorded  6,7,3, and five cases respectively.

The three cases recorded in Kilifi County are in the Kilifi North sub-county.

One more person has succumbed to the virus in Nairobi bringing the total number of fatalities to 89.

7,123,222 have been infected with the virus globally with 406,747 deaths being recorded.

5,230 of the deaths have been recorded in Africa.
