Mombasa born driver dies of Coronavirus in the US

35-year-old Peter Juma is the latest Kenyan to succumb to the Coronavirus which so far claimed more than 43,000 lives.

Juma who is the son of Bishop Bishop Elisha Juma and Reverend Mary Juma of Kenya Assemblies of God in Tudor succumbed to the virus on Saturday 28th March according to diaspora news website Samrack.

Juma who worked as a bus driver for an airport in Newyork moved the US for greener pastures five years ago.

According to the website, his family is now appealing to the government to allow them to airlift his remains to Kenya for a befitting sendoff.

“He was with us since December 25 and returned to the States mid-January. We had no idea that was the last time we would see our son alive,” Peter’s mother, Mary was quoted by the website.

Peter died a few weeks after being taken ill and according to the website,  his father has since been hospitalized in a facility in Mombasa after receiving the news.

Peter becomes the second Kenyan to succumb to the virus in the US.

Laban Kimungu yet another Kenyan succumbed to the virus at the Massauchets hospital on 25th March.

 It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Laban Kimungu Njoroge of Molo. He had been undergoing treatment for an underlying condition when he succumbed to COVID-19 on March 25,” the family said in a statement that was posted on an online diaspora website Samrack.
