Tuk tuk driver killed in Kibarani accident

A tuk-tuk driver died on the spot after he was involved in an accident in Kibarani along the Makupa causeway on Tuesday afternoon.

Changamwe police boss Ali Ndiema confirmed the accident saying it had left one dead and three injured.

According to the police boss, the accident occurred after a trailer rammed into the Tuk Tuk that was approaching while on reverse gear.

“The body of the deceased is lying at Coast Provincial General Hospital Mortuary while the three injured are receiving treatment,” said Ndiema.

According to police reports, the driver was alone in the Tuk Tuk when the incident occurred.

A heavy gridlock was experienced in the area following the accident.
