Two people charged with stealing gun at Dp Ruto’s residence

Two people-a man and a woman- have been charged in Mombasa court for allegedly stealing a gun at deputy president William Ruto residence in Mombasa.

Elsia kazungu and Joshua Owiti are accused of stealing Ceska pistol serial number E1546 loaded with 15 rounds of ammunitions on 19 December 2019 at Dp’ residence.

The suspects are also alleged to have stolen a mobile phone valued at sh 1200 property of Francis Kariuki Kamande, a police officer manning Ruto’s residence in Mombasa.

The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges before Mombasa chief magistrate Edina Nyaloti and released each accused person on a bond of Sh.200,000.

The case will be mentioned on 10th February.
