Former Ugenya Member of Parliament Chris Karan has been arrested by EACC sleuths in Mombasa for allegedly using a forged document during an election petition in 2017.
Karan was arrested alongside three others with the offences of providing false information under the leadership and integrity act 2012,forgery,uttering false documents and making false declaration under the penal code.
Karana, Dr.George Owino, Dr.Mohammed Adan Mohamed and lawyer George Mugoya Mbaya are alleged to have committed the offences in September 2017 at the Siaya high court.
Coast region EACC officer Japheth Baithalu said the suspects will be charged at the Mombasa law courts.
“The office of DPP gave consent to have the four arrested and charged in court” said Baithalu.
