
Alvindo has gone ahead and released music video for the song Takataka barely a week after it was banned.
The new music video has been uploaded on Krg The Don YouTube Account has garnered over 50,000 views trending at number 12 on YouTube.
Celebrities such as Shaniqwa, Butita, and DJ Shiti have made appearances in the new video.
Kenya Film and Classification Board Chief Ezekiel Mutua banned the “Takataka” song on grounds that its lyrics were obscene, degrading and that they advocated for violence against women by equating them to trash.
“@InfoKfcb has made a decision to restrict the song ‘Takataka’ by Alvin aka Alvindo. The song produced by @FastCashMusicKe is restricted due to its obscene and degrading lyrics that advocate for violence against women by equating them to trash. The song ‘Takataka’ was not submitted to @InfoKfcb for examination and classification and contravenes Section 12 (2) of the Films and Stage Plays Act CAP 222,” Read in part the statement from KFCB.
Before the ban and its deletion from YouTube, the audio had gained 1.1 million views.
