Nairobi, KENYA: The Anti-Counterfeit Agency (ACA) on Thursday seized goods worth sh.1.5 million at a mall in Karen.

The Authority raided Madora shop at the Hub mall in Karen following complaints from a customer who had purchased products from the shop.

“We got a complaint from a customer who had bought two bottles of Sexy 212 perfume from the shop, when she tried the perfumes at home she discovered they smelt different from the one she was using,” said Peter Wafula from the Anti-Counterfeit Agency.

The Agency seized Sexy 212, Gucci, Polo products among other high end perfumes.

“When we raided the shop the only purpose was to seize the perfume that the customer complained about but we noticed that some of the products had problems, for instance there were Gucci products with different manufactures and different packaging which makes it difficult to know which is the original,” said Peter.

The raid came just three days after ACA and ERC discovered an illegal petroleum depot disguised as a garage in Kariakor, at Crystal Motor Garage, Starehe Constituency.
