Police impostor arrested in Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: A police impostor was on Tuesday arrested and arraigned in court in Mombasa.

Speaking to Baraka FM on phone, Mombasa County Police Commander Johnston Ipara said the suspect was a thief posing as a junior General Service Unit (GSU) officer.

“The suspect appeared in court on Tuesday and was charged with robbery with violence. We are still looking for more charges to add on that,” said Ipara.

Ipara added that the suspect was among thieves who have been posing as police officers to harass and steal form the public.

The suspect was involved in a sh.430,000 theft.
