Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Najib Balala has refuted reports that his homes were raided by EACC in sh.100 million scam.
Balala said he has been cooperating with EACC in inquiry on the American Society of Travel Agents Expo that took place at KICC in Feb 2017 organised by ASTA – Kenya chapter.
It was reported that Balala’s office and his homes in Nairobi, Vipingo, Kilifi, and Mombasa were raided on Monday and crucial documents recovered by EACC.
According to reports Balala is being investigated for allegedly awarding a sh.100 million contract, through single sourcing, to a local company to offer services during American society of travel agents expos held in Nairobi 2017.
He has threatened to sue Standard newspaper for defamation.
