Two in court over KPA container theft

Mombasa, KENYA: Two men were on Monday charged in Mombasa court for allegedly stealing three containers at the Kenya Ports Authority headquarters.

Johnson Kimani and Abrahams Kibet are accused of stealing containers worth Sh.750, 000 which are the property of Car and General Limited.

The court heard that on diverse dates between 6th and 24th October 2018 at KPA Toyo container terminal, in Kilidini Mombasa County the accused persons jointly with others not before court stole three containers of 40 feet of serial numbers MOTU 0772842, TCNU 6646966 and TCNU 4396390.

They denied the charges before Mombasa senior resident magistrate Christine Ongweno.

Each accused person was released on a surety of Sh.200,000 or a cash bail of Sh.100,000

The case set for hearing on 27th February.
