Seven Ethiopians arrested in Mombasa en-route South Africa

Mombasa, KENYA: Seven Ethiopians are currently detained in Mombasa in what police suspect is a case of human trafficking.

According to police, the seven suspects were arrested on Friday after they alighted from a trailer in Jomvu area Mombasa County.

Changamwe OCPD Peter Omanwa said investigations had established that the suspects were traveling to South Africa.

“The suspects were founding hiding in a nearby bush but we thank residents who reported the matter to police after they saw the foreigners in the area. ‘said Omanwa.

The suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday to face human trafficking charges according to Omwana.
