Nairobi, KENYA: All terrorists that attacked dusitD2 hotel at 14 Riverside in Westlands, Nairobi have been killed.

Addressing the nation on Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that at least 700 people were rescued during the attack with 14 other losing their lives.

“In the coming days and weeks we shall continue in the never ending work of strengthening our systems. We will seek out every person that was involved in the funding, planning and execution of this heinous act,” said President Kenyatta.

Speaking during a press briefing at 14 Riverside Drive, Kenya Red Cross Society Secretary General Abbas Gullet said that 18 people were injured during the attack.

“This operation has been successful. Kenya over the last 10 years we’ve seen our own fair share of disasters, but this operation was a well coordinated process,” said Abbas.

Also at the briefing was Interior CS Fred Matiang’i who said the operation was over and that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations will be taking over the investigations.

“I have come here to thank the men and women in uniform. Our security teams have done a fantastic job,” said Matiang’i.

“This operation is now over, we are moving to the second phase which is to check the criminal aspect,” he added.
