Music artists Naseeb Abdul Juma also known as Diamond Platnumz and Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa known by his stage name Rayvanny are still banned from performing anywhere within and outside Tanzania.

Tanzania music regulatory body (BASATA) says the ban is still on despite the two artists announcing that it had been lifted.

“The board wants to emphasize that we have not allowed Diamond and Rayvanny to perform. The ban has not been lifted,” read in part a statement from BASATA.

At a press conference in Nairobi, Diamond Platnumz and his Wasafi crew alleged that the ban had been lifted stating the shows will go on as slated.

“I’d like to thank my government and the music regulatory body for giving us another chance and granting us permission to go on with the shows. This shows how much they are supporting Tanzanian music and art,” said Diamond.

However, BASATA has warned Diamond and Rayvanny of dire consequences for misleading the public.

“The board further demands the two artistes to obey the ban and to stop misleading the public by spreading wrong information before strict action is taken on them,” said the board.
