Wasafi festival will go on as planned despite Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny being banned from performing within and outside Tanzania.

The Tanzanian government prohibited Diamond and Rayvanny from having shows both in and outside the country after they disobeyed a decision by Tanzania’s music authority, BASATA, banning their single ‘Mwanza’, and performed it at Wasafi Festival in Mwanza city.

“Music regulatory board has come to an agreement to officially ban the two artists (Diamond and Rayvanny) for their continued disobedience of laws governing issues of art in the country.

However, Diamond Platnumz manager Babu Tale has maintained that Diamond’s scheduled shows will go as planned despite the ban, saying that they would deal with the consequences in time.

“That is our task. We will reach out to them and see how we can meet halfway. Meanwhile, we will handle the consequences when we get there,” said Babu Tale.

Diamond was slated to perform in Embu, Mombasa and Nairobi in his Wasafi festival tour during this festive season.
