Harambee stars nominated for CAF team of the year award

Kenya National team Harambee stars on Friday afternoon was nominated for the CAF team of the year award.

Harambee Stars have been nominated alongside their counterpart Uganda Cranes.

Other teams in the category include Mauritania, Uganda, Guinea Bissau, Madagascar, and Zimbabwe.

The Kenyan boys sit on top of Group F with seven points as they are on the verge of qualifying for the 2019 African Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon next year.

However, Kenya is waiting for the decision from FIFA about their fate to qualify for AFCON after Sierra Leone was banned from participating in any sports activities due to interference.

On the other hand, Harambee stars have maintained its Fifa ranking despite their latest impressive performance.

Sebastian Migne’s side maintains remain at 105th position globally and 23rd on the continental level, a position they have occupied since October.

Uganda are still on top of the chat in East Africa sitting at position 75 globally, they have improved four places in the global rankings.
