Olympic Qualifiers: Stars U-23 to play Sudan

Nairobi, KENYA: Kenya’s U23 team will play Sudan in their second round of the Olympic qualifiers to be staged in Tokyo Japan in 2020.

The tier between Kenya and Sudan will take place March next year.

This comes after Sudan’s victory of 1-0 over Seychelles on Tuesday night. The two teams had drawn 1-1 in the first leg match last week.

The emerging stars humiliated Mauritius in their first back to back leg match by recording an aggregate of 8-1 last week.

Sudan head coach Zradvko Lugosic will be returning to Kenya since he left in 2016 after heading AFC Leopards.

He was first signed in 2013 as Gor Mahia coach for two seasons but left in 2015, he, later on, came back to AFC Leopards, unfortunately, he never lasted long.

Uganda and Tanzania are out of the second round after they lost their matches on Tuesday night.

Uganda went down 2-1 to South Sudan, the South Sudanese side had failed to impress in their first leg after they lost 1-0 but made a come back to book a place in the second round.

Elsewhere Tanzania lost to Burundi on goal aggregates after settling for a 3-3 draw.

Rwanda was edged out 5-0 by the Democratic Republic of Congo.
