Nairobi, KENYA: Migori governor Okoth Oado was on Wednesday arrested after firearms were found in his houses during a raid by EACC detectives.
According to sources, a total of 8 guns were found in his house with 5 of them being found in his house in Nairobi while 3 of them were found in his Migori house.
On Tuesday, the detectives raided the governor’s houses searching for evidence in a corruption case where the governor has been implicated.
The commission is investigating the loss of sh. 2.5 billion at the Migori county coffers that is said to have been wired to his family members outside the country.
The county boss is currently being detained at the DCI headquarters.
