Nairobi, KENYA: Two people have been arrested after they were found repackaging expired wheat flour for resale.

The twoJoyce Nyambura and Samuel Kamau were arrested on Wednesday evening in Dandora, Nairobi.

Detectives had raided a house in Siranga area where the two were busted with several bales of wheat flour that were being repackaged for resale

According to detectives, the expired bales of  Exe Wheat, Dola Wheat, and Golden Wheat Flours had expired on July 2018.

However, the two suspects had printed other repackaging papers with a different expiry date to hide the expired flour.

The latest nab has raised fears that the repackaged flour could be out in shops.

However, this is not the only nab of expired goods over the past few months.

Just a few months ago officials from Kebs nabbed expired Thai rice that was being repackaged for sale.

The rice had been declared unfit for human consumption after a test done at the Mombasa port revealed that the rice was expired but still the rice had found its way into Kenya’s shelves.
