Nairobi, KENYA: A showdown is looming in the Nairobi County Assembly after it emerged that the Orange Democratic Movement party has written to the speaker of Nairobi’s county Assembly Beatrice Elachi to have its point men at the assembly replaced.

In a press statement on Thursday, party chairman John Mbadi indicated that the Party has written to the Speaker of the County Assembly of Nairobi on the notification of the changes it has made in the leadership of the Minority Party in the Assembly.

His letter to the speaker seeks to have Minority Leader Hon. Elias Otieno of Kileleshwa Ward replaced by Hon. Kennedy Odhiambo Oyugi of Imara Daima Ward .

Minority Whip Hon. Peter Imwatok of Makongeni/Kaloleni Ward was not spared either as he was replaced by Hon. Nicholas Okumu Ouma.

The statement indicated that Mbadi seeks to have the changes effected immediately.

It is not yet clear as to why the party opted to take such an action against the duo, because the party did not divulge any information on the same.
